The Impact of the 2025 Program
During 2025, the Children's Hope Center continued to strengthen its commitment to the children and youth of our community, providing educational support, food and emotional support in a safe and welcoming environment.
Through the dedication of our team, volunteers, and supporters, our programs achieved the following results:
18,182 hot meals provided to children and youth throughout the year, helping ensure they have the nourishment needed to learn and thrive.
770 hours of psychological counseling offered to support emotional well-being, mental health, and personal development.
158 workshops conducted, including educational activities, health and hygiene talks, life-skills sessions, and creative workshops.

Some of their stories
My name is Juan Carlos González Solano. I was born on June 12, 2001, in the town of Ixtepec, about six hours from the city of Oaxaca. However, I have lived most of my life in Oaxaca City. My story at CEI began in 2008 when I started second grade. Over the years, my family and I have faced a number of difficulties. My parents have little formal education. My mother has spent most of her life selling handmade tortillas, while my father is a farmer. The first hardship we faced was when my father had a work accident that left him with a physical disability; he lost an arm and a leg. Since then, we have experienced financial difficulties because he has been unable to hold down a stable job. There were times when we only ate once a day. We've lived our whole lives in a small tin shack. During the rainy season, it flooded, and in the cold season, the tin didn't protect us from the cold, so I got sick a lot because I suffer from asthma. We also don't have a stove or gas; we've cooked our food on a wood-burning brazier. The place where we live is sparsely populated; there aren't many houses. Since we arrived, most of the area has been overgrown with vegetation, and there was no electricity, stores, or any other public services. Currently, we still lack potable water, which has been one of our biggest problems because the water trucks that come here charge exorbitant prices.
I have an older sister who also received support from CEI A.C. and completed her degree in Primary Education. I have already finished my bachelor's degree, and now my next goal is to continue growing professionally and achieve financial stability so I can start a family business and apply all the knowledge I gained from my degree in Business Innovation and Marketing.

I started my second year of high school when I was accepted into the CEI program. From then on, my parents' workload decreased somewhat thanks to the support of this organization. My mother worked cleaning houses every day from morning until late afternoon/evening, and my father works as a construction worker. We are a family of four, so when my sister started college, and to avoid bothering my parents by asking them for money for transportation to university, I decided to work in a small internet café. It was an easy job that allowed me to pay for at least my transportation for almost two years. Later, I decided to leave that job because I started working in the office of one of my university professors, although this was also to learn more about the degree I'm finishing, Law. Today I know that I want to be a defense attorney, focusing more on crimes against discrimination towards the LGBTQ+ community and discrimination against women because of some friends I met in the last five years at the specialized prosecutor's office in the state of Oaxaca, where I did my mandatory social service. I learned that many cases involving people with limited economic resources do not receive the appropriate legal advice, and because of these kinds of injustices, I want to defend all those whom the "justice" system ignores.
Itandehui Berenice Candido Jiménez
My name is Marisela Carpio Ángeles. I joined CEI when I started kindergarten at age four. From a very young age, I dreamed of becoming a doctor, but I was disappointed when I wasn't accepted to university to study medicine. I decided to work in a cafeteria and study for a Bachelor's degree in nursing. Thanks to my parents, who sell tacos from a street stand even in their old age, and my mother, who also washed and ironed other people's clothes, I was able to support my four siblings and me. In my second year of nursing school, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which dealt a severe blow to my family's finances, as my parents couldn't sell tacos. My salary decreased, my shifts were shortened, and other changes took place. Because of this, I was going to quit my studies. However, thanks to the support of CEI A.C., I continued, and here I am, finishing my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. My next goal is to support the people of those towns in the state of Oaxaca, where medical services do not reach, and in this way contribute and have the opportunity to repay all the support I have received from the different people who believed in me and thanks to the C.E.I.A.C.
Marisela Carpio Ángeles
Hello, I am Milca Rebeca Reyes Palestino. I was fortunate enough to be born in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, and I have lived here in Xoxocotlán my entire life. When I entered CEI, I was in my first year of secondary school. It was a great help to my family since expenses were high. I come from a family of eight children. When I was studying for my bachelor's degree, I had to deal with a lack of financial resources, so I had to work at a stationery store after school, I worked as a nanny for six months, and I worked in a clothing store. All my jobs have been seasonal because my degree sometimes required more time. Thanks to the help of my parents and CEI, we were able to manage all my daily school expenses: transportation, food, and various school supplies, since there are eight of us children and we were all studying. Only two of my siblings are of working age. Upon graduating with a degree in Pedagogy... While I wait for my official job placement in a community, I will be working temporarily as a teacher. I know that we are usually sent to communities very far from the city of Oaxaca where there is no efficient transportation, and that's why I will be traveling for six hours or more. But I am still excited to do a good job because I am prepared. I am very grateful for all the support my godmother has given me through the CEI, as she has facilitated many things in my studies.
Milca Rebeca Reyes Palestino
I was born in Oaxaca in the central valleys, here in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, just 30 minutes from downtown Oaxaca City. The first time I entered the CEI was when I was 6 years old.
I studied for a Bachelor's degree in nursing because this way I can help anyone who needs me during difficult times when they are ill. It was very difficult for me in my third semester of high school when I lost my father. It was a huge loss, and I struggled to move forward; it was incredibly hard because it affected me emotionally and psychologically. But after that, I had to keep going despite everything. I didn't give up, and I completed my studies because I promised my father I would finish my degree. I thank my mother, my siblings, and the CEI (Center for Nursing Education) for not leaving me alone in this endeavor. I did my clinical rotations at a public hospital in Oaxaca de Juárez, and it went well, although I was afraid of making mistakes. But that didn't stop me from continuing to fight for this dream. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the CEI for supporting me all these years. And I will continue studying because I still need my degree and a specialization that I plan to pursue.
